bbpue the album

Some links   look up bbpue wherever you listen to music

I made this album throughout 2024 entirely on my phone, using the free version of Bandlab (it didn't always have ads.. I still use the free version though)

15 songs, very personal to me because I wanted to capture myself through music. Genre-wise I don't know what exactly to call it. RYM has it labeled as Indietronica which is fitting enough. I was inspired by 90s indie and idm, people have told me there's a slight psychadelic element throughout. It also gets pretty lo-fi at times because of how I made it. Expect some warm guitar + synth melodies with singing over experimental drums.

I want to give a huge thanks to everyone who has enjoyed this work since I put it out around half a year ago. All sorts of people from random high schoolers to actual legends have very nice things to say about the music, they can tell it's personal, and that's all I really wanted. I really made this for me and my friends too. I'll drop a little extra info and some pics below

Album cover

People always mention the cover, which is great. I think album covers are very important. I like to listen to music while staring at the cover sometimes, I wanted to make a cover like that

I made the cover mostly by arranging small stuff I had in my phone case over a piece of paper. Some of the stuff has special importance to me.. The flying cow and black sticker with a 6 on it were owned by my dad who passed a long time ago. The yeti was sent to me by my friend when he was going through a lot. The studs on the side were just from a total piece of crap belt that I bought at a flea market in Illinois. Thing literally split apart a day after I got it. My friends and I went back there recently to find that the place that sold me the belt is completely gone, replaced by.. a wall. Like damn

I added all the little plus sign guys in Illustrator, but I sort of wish I kept it without.

Making

Listeners usually think the bandlab thing is crazy, sometimes they don't even believe me. It's pretty simple tho. Pictured is the instruments I used on most tracks, got these for super cheap prices btw. Korg Minilogue synth, modified Fernandes ZO-3 guitar, zoom studio vocoder. I would just put my phone next to whatever speaker they were connected to, listen to the metronome, and record each track like that. The vocals were recorded on apple earbuds. Got an interface and an XLR mic for this new music though
These songs are deceptively simple, using 6 tracks or less on most of them but still having complex beats and stuff. Definitely some samples also ;)

CDs

CDs were made by my good Floridian friend Mario as the first release for his new imprint, Compost Discs!!! Comes with a bonus track
Idk how many are left, it says more than 10 but he told me they are almost gone. But also there's a bunch of discs he's gonna send me with no case, so maybe I could do a lil re-release with my own packaging. I'll make a post when I get those discs

 THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE
